Close to the end of the first half of the year.

Time seems to go fast when we are having fun or when life is busy. It is a case of both of these factors for MAG members.

Several new members have joined our group this semester with more booked in to apply to join for the second half of the year.

We are now counting down to our mid year event taking place on Monday 22nd July. We will have morning tea with an art quiz for tables of 8 to show off their knowledge for a table prize. Members will also contribute to an internal display with the theme of ‘Memories’. Then off to our local hotel for Lunch together to complete the event.

New member Rickie welcomed by Henny and Pip, while other new members Suzanne and Wendy in the background reunite from their time together at Splashout Studios.

Getting into the swing of Studio Sessions 2024

Marion Art Group Committee 2024: (back from left). Lee-Anne, Jan, Jim, Maggie, Phill, (front from left), Lindsay, Pip and Sue. (absent) Rob. Posing for the camera before continuing our planning for the year. Always something for us to debate and organize!

Meanwhile a few members continue on with their artistic efforts, towards the end of a Studio Session before the final pack-up must commence. We have an average of 35 members on any given Monday. (Nearly 50 members on our Register)

Starting Again 2024

We are now back again at the Uniting Church Hall and enjoying catching up with each other and getting into the swing of Monday morning Studio Sessions.

First Portrait Session for the year took place earlier than usual. Now we need to start thinking about our program of Activities and Exhibitions for the year.

The Old Marino Community Hall has become history

Sad to see the old hall gutted and then demolished while the Marion Art group reflects on our wonderful home for 30 years……… from the safe walls of the Seacliff Uniting Church Hall. It is with great interest now to observe the complete clearing of the site above and the gradual rebuild of the newly designed version over the next 12 months.

Meanwhile, we prepare for our October Exhibition at the Brighton Central Foodland Shopping Centre. More details to follow.

Gallery M Exhibition

One of our artists work on display here to help promote our exhibition at Gallery M starting Friday 14 April till Sunday 6 May. Over 50 artworks by 34 Marion Art Group artists. Hope to see you there!
